Entry
into confined spaces for maintenance, repair or statutory
inspections is a common task in industrial plants. Although a
frequent event many accidents occur in confined space and
unfortunately often fatal. These accidents occur because personnel
are either insufficiently trained or have had their awareness
blunted by experience.

The
course is split into two sections and covered by a team of two

Days) will cover an introduction to fire, the use and practice of
BA Sets, Rescue of personnel, the use of portable fire
extinguishers and entry into buildings.

Days) will cover methods of Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting
Techniques, Emergency Planning and First Response.

Response for On Scene Commanders
The
course is split into two sections and covered by a team of two
instructors.
Section 1
(Two and a half Days) will cover Internal Emergency Plans as well
as External Emergency Plans, the necessities for liaison and
alignment with Local and Government Authorities Plans and fire
fighting techniques.
Section
2
(Two and a half Days) will cover the
Practical Techniques of fire fighting operations to ‘Kill’ or
‘Contain’ the Fire.

Training for Team Members
An
Introduction to HAZOP. The key provision of Process safety
Management (OSHA 1910.119) and the European Seveso Directive is
process hazard analysis - a careful review of what could go wrong
and what safeguards must be implemented to prevent releases of
hazardous chemicals. One of the methods recommended in both PSM
and Seveso is the HAZOP method.
